I’m Johanna Coetzee, Counsellor and Psychotherapist. When I work with people, together we look at their emotions, thoughts and behaviours. We also look at how they affect others and how others affect them. We chat in a way that gives them a greater understanding of how they operate in the world and how they perceive their lives to be. Then we usually find options for them to choose in a specific difficulty.
Some examples of areas I work with are anxiety, depression, stress, relationships, ageing, life transitions, lack of confidence, family problems, work problems, trauma, grief and loss and addiction. Some of these areas may overlap. I bring myself into the dialogue as a genuine, real person; one who has experienced most of the problems you will bring to therapy. I don’t judge but understand that you are doing the best you can.
